According to Public Pool, on July 10, a solo Bitcoin miner successfully mined block #957,382 using a Bitaxe Gamma device, earning a block reward of 3.1382 BTC worth approximately $200,000. The miner operated the $150 palm-sized open-source device at roughly 1 terahash per second (TH/s) for about eight hours through Public Pool, a solo mining pool that allows participants to retain the full block reward. This marks only the second time a single Bitaxe has mined a block through the platform.
