South Korea Pledges 141 Trillion Won in Regional Policy Finance, Expanding to 164 Trillion by 2028

According to Yonhap Infomax, South Korea's Financial Services Commission Chair Lee Euk-won announced on July 7 that the country will supply 141 trillion won or more in policy finance to regional areas in 2026 and expand the amount to 164 trillion won by 2028. Additionally, 40% of a 150 trillion won national growth fund will be directed to local regions to foster future growth engines. Lee announced these commitments at the opening ceremony of KDB NextONE Gwangju, the Korea Development Bank's third startup incubation platform, which will support up to 15 startups in Southwest Korea founded within the past seven years through six-month programs offered twice annually.
