South Korean Stock ETFs Surge as Seoul Expands Forex Trading; Samsung, SK Hynix Products Rally 14%+

According to Zhitong Finance, South Korean stock ETFs surged this morning (July 20), with leveraged tracking products posting double-digit gains. The Nantian 2x Leveraged Samsung Electronics ETF (07747) rose 17.41% to 78.9 HKD, while the Nantian 2x Leveraged SK Hynix ETF (07709) climbed 14.51% to 51.3 HKD. The rally follows South Korea's Financial Ministry announcement to encourage won usage globally by allowing foreign financial institutions temporary overdraft access to Korean won and permitting won-denominated bonds as collateral in financial transactions. The measures extend Seoul's effort to internationalize the currency, with 24-hour trading in the USD/KRW market extended since July 6.
