According to Herald Economy, South Korea's sidecar circuit breaker mechanism, designed to mitigate sharp market volatility, has triggered a record 37 times year-to-date as of mid-July, accounting for approximately 40% of all historical activations since its inception. The frequency of activations has accelerated notably, with the mechanism triggering roughly every two trading days during June and July, marking the most volatile period for the safeguard mechanism on record.
