According to Yonhap Infomax, South Korea's Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport held its first real estate policy forum on July 14 in Seoul with around 60 participants, including government officials, academics, media representatives, housing and financial industry experts, and citizens.
Key agenda items discussed include regulatory reforms to boost private redevelopment and reconstruction projects, utilization of vacant urban sites such as the Yongsan International Business District, and flexible urban and architectural regulations. The government also addressed private rental housing supply mechanisms, the proportion of public rental and sales housing, and housing demand distribution through relocation of central government offices to provincial areas.
