S&P Dow Jones Indices and Pantera Capital launched the S&P Pantera Digital Asset Index on July 20, a new benchmark that selects cryptocurrencies based on protocol revenue and economic fundamentals rather than market capitalization alone. The index contains 18 digital assets screened for protocol revenue, liquidity and market size, with final weightings capped at 35% for the largest constituent and 20% for others. Ether (ETH), BNB and Solana (SOL) are the three largest holdings, followed by TRON (TRX) and Hyperliquid (HYPE). Eligible assets must maintain a market capitalization exceeding $500 million, with protocol revenue measured over the previous two quarters using data from blockchain analytics platform Artemis.
