According to Kitco News and data from the U.S. Census Bureau, spot gold spiked to a session high of $4,069.98 per ounce on Friday morning (July 24) after new home sales data released at 10 am ET. U.S. new home sales rose 1.6% in June to a seasonally adjusted annualized rate of 628,000 units, exceeding the market consensus of 610,000 units but falling short of the expected 3.4% increase. Gold last traded at $4,061.76, up 0.30% on the day.
