Stryker announced on July 16 the full U.S. commercial launch of its Mako RPS handheld robotic system for total knee replacement. The system, following a limited market release, is now available nationwide and marks Mako's expansion from robotic-arm-assisted platforms to handheld robotic technology.

According to Lisa Kloes, vice president and general manager of Stryker's knee business, the Mako RPS combines robotic technology with the clinically validated Triathlon knee system, delivering an intuitive surgical experience based on implants and workflows familiar to surgeons.
