Tech Megacaps Gain $1.5T in July as Semiconductor Stocks Plunge $1.8T Excluding NVDA

In July, technology's seven largest companies added approximately $1.5 trillion in market value, while semiconductor stocks excluding Nvidia shed nearly $1.8 trillion, according to Strategas data. Software stocks showed broader resilience, with 44 of 51 tracked stocks posting gains (median up 6%), while only Nvidia and Broadcom advanced among semiconductor peers as the broader chip sector recorded a median decline of nearly 20%. Memory chip makers including Micron, Samsung, and SK Hynix entered bear market territory.
