Trump Administration Presses Meta to Submit AI Models for Federal Review; Meta Only Developer That Has Not Agreed

According to Reuters, the Trump administration pressed Meta on June 23 to submit its AI models for federal review, with sources saying Meta is the only major US AI developer that has not yet agreed to voluntarily share its models with the federal government. The administration made the request via email. Meta responded that it shares the administration's goal of advancing US leadership in robust and secure frontier AI and hopes to sign the agreement soon. Earlier this month, the US government ordered Anthropic to suspend foreign nationals' access to its most advanced AI models, citing national security concerns.
