Trump Posts Iran Nuclear Warning at 4 AM; Pentagon Cites $25B War Cost

According to U.S. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Iran is pursuing nuclear weapons using a "North Korea strategy," as President Trump posted pressure messages on his social media early on April 29 (U.S. Eastern Time). Trump, who posted a photo of himself armed with sunglasses and a rifle alongside the text "No more Mr. Nice Guy," called on Iran to "get smart" on nuclear negotiations. In his first congressional testimony since the U.S.-Iran war began on February 28, Hegseth explained that Iran, like North Korea, is using conventional missiles to deter external military intervention while slowly advancing toward nuclear weapons development. According to the U.S. Department of Defense, the war has cost $25 billion to date.
