Trump Refuses to Sign Housing Bill Until Election Legislation Passes

According to CNBC, President Trump on Thursday refused to commit to signing a bipartisan housing bill, instead demanding that Congress first pass the controversial Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act. Trump called the election bill "the most important" legislation that will "affect the future for many years," noting it requires photo identification for voting and proof of citizenship during registration. He stated the housing bill contains "a lot of Democrat provisions" and said he would "rather not sign any bill" until the election bill is signed. The housing bill reportedly includes a four-year federal ban on central bank digital currencies.
