UK Household Inflation Expectations Fall to 3.8% in June, Down from 4.7% in May

According to a Citi and YouGov survey reported by Jin10 on June 26, UK household inflation expectations for the next 12 months declined to 3.8% in June, down from 4.7% in May, returning to levels seen before the Iran conflict in January. Long-term inflation expectations also eased 0.1 percentage point to 3.9%, matching the six-month average before the conflict. The decline in inflation expectations is expected to ease the Bank of England's concerns about a potential wage-price spiral, with market expectations growing that the central bank may avoid interest rate hikes.
