U.S. 30-Year Mortgage Rate Rises to 6.49% on June 26, Up 0.02% Week-Over-Week

According to Freddie Mac, the average 30-year fixed-rate mortgage rose to 6.49% on Thursday (June 26), up from 6.47% a week earlier and down from 6.77% a year ago. New home listings declined 1.7% in the week ended June 21, reaching the lowest level since February, per Redfin data. Zillow projects mortgage rates will remain between 6.4% and 6.5% throughout the summer before declining to approximately 6.2% by year-end.
