U.S. and Iran Establish Technical Negotiation Mechanism, 60-Day Deal Timeline Set on June 22

According to a joint statement by Qatar and Pakistan, representatives of the U.S., Iran, and the two mediators concluded the first round of high-level talks in Bergental, Switzerland on June 22. The talks took place in a constructive atmosphere and achieved progress including the establishment of a mechanism for further technical negotiations. A steering committee was agreed upon to provide political oversight, with a 60-day roadmap set to reach a final agreement under the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding framework.
