According to a report released by the National Cryptocurrency Association on July 23, the U.S. crypto industry is expected to contribute over $55 billion to U.S. GDP in 2026, with approximately $31 billion flowing to workers as direct labor income. The industry directly employs 34,000 people, primarily in software, blockchain, and data engineering roles.
When including supply chain-supported jobs and consumption-driven employment, the total jobs supported reach 232,000 across the country, with California and New York accounting for over 111,000 positions combined. The report's estimates are based on 2024 input-output analysis from the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis and $23.22 billion in annual crypto industry revenue.
