On July 17, the U.S. dollar strengthened against the Chinese yuan at the interbank foreign exchange market, with the USD/CNY midpoint rate rising 25 basis points to 6.7934.

Other major currency pairs against the yuan moved as follows: EUR/CNY fell 59 points to 7.7631; GBP/CNY declined 289 points to 9.1414; JPY/CNY dropped 4 points to 4.1811; CHF/CNY fell 244 points to 8.3928; SGD/CNY declined 20 points to 5.2568; HKD/CNY, AUD/CNY, CAD/CNY, and NZD/CNY rose 1.8, 17, 74, and 36 points respectively; CNY/RUB increased 773 points to 11.5295; CNY/MYR fell 8.3 points to 0.60059.
