Whale's Korean Semiconductor Short Turns Profitable Overnight, Gains $1.01M in 24 Hours

According to Hyperinsight monitoring, a whale address (0x4c7) that shorted Korean semiconductor stocks saw its positions turn profitable overnight on July 7. The address held six semiconductor short positions worth approximately $31.03 million in total notional size, with floating gains of $838K as of today. The two largest positions—SK Hynix (4x leverage) and Samsung Electronics (4x leverage)—flipped from a combined $638K loss yesterday to a combined $378K gain today, generating $1.01 million in capital recovery.

Samsung Electronics short position posted 16% gains with $206K floating profit, while SK Hynix short saw 6.7% gains with $173K floating profit. The whale has continued adding to Samsung positions, opening 1,612 new shorts over the past 30 minutes valued at approximately $1.28 million.
