Zcash Activates Ironwood NU6.3 Upgrade at Block 3,428,143, Launches New Shielded Pool on July 28

ZEC-4.44%
According to PANews, Zcash activated the Ironwood NU6.3 network upgrade at block height 3,428,143 on July 28, introducing a new shielded pool to enhance network security and enable independent verification of ZEC circulating supply. The upgrade restricts the legacy Orchard pool from accepting new funds; existing funds must migrate through a turnstile mechanism to the new Ironwood pool. The Ironwood pool is based on a formally verified and independently audited protocol designed to prevent risks similar to prior Orchard vulnerabilities. Wallets such as Zcash Wallet 3.8.0 now support migration paths allowing users to transfer Orchard funds to the new pool without changing addresses.
