Zcash Launches Zakura Full Node Client with 5x Faster Sync, Quantum-Recovery Support Planned for Ironwood

According to Foresight News, Zcash full node client Zakura launched, developed jointly by Project Tachyon and Valar Group. Official testing shows mainnet synchronization takes approximately 4 hours 20 minutes, delivering nearly 5x faster performance compared to Zebra, while an 11 GB pruned snapshot reduces node startup time to about 1 minute 50 seconds. Zakura will form a three-layer scaling architecture with Project Tachyon's recursive proofs and Valar Group's private information retrieval technology, targeting over 50,000 transactions per second long-term. The client will support the Ironwood upgrade, scheduled for activation around July 28. New Ironwood funds will implement ZIP 2005 by default, enabling quantum recoverability to preserve recovery pathways for future quantum-resistant protocols. The upgrade also introduces verifiable ZEC supply cap verification through the Turnstile mechanism.
