24X Seeks SEC Waiver to Start Overnight Stock Trading; SIPs Not Ready

According to SEC filings, 24X National Exchange filed an application on December 15, 2025, seeking a temporary waiver to operate overnight U.S. equity trading from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m. Eastern Time without active securities information processor (SIP) feeds. The SEC published the request for public comment in late February 2026.

24X proposes substitute arrangements, including a free proprietary real-time feed for overnight quotes and trade data, delayed reporting of overnight trades, and quarterly data disclosures to the SEC. The exchange says the waiver would expire once equity data plans can support overnight data collection and distribution. Nasdaq and investor advocacy group Better Markets have opposed the request, citing concerns that investors would lack independent consolidated market data during thinly-traded overnight sessions.
