AMD's Helios AI Server Enters Mass Production, to Ship End of Q3; OpenAI Plans Large-Scale Deployment by Year-End

AMD's second-generation Helios AI server has entered full mass production and is expected to begin shipping by the end of the third quarter, CEO Su Zifeng announced on July 23. OpenAI will deploy Helios racks at scale by year-end and accelerate adoption in 2027, according to Sachin Katti, OpenAI's VP of compute strategy. Helios integrates AMD's latest MI455X AI accelerators and Venice-generation CPUs, both manufactured by TSMC. The device targets Nvidia's flagship AI inference market.
