Artificial Analysis Launches Industry-Specific AI Benchmarks; Claude Fable 5 Leads, GLM-5.2 Challenges Closed-Source Models

Artificial Analysis has launched six industry-specific performance indices to assess real-world business applications across finance, law, healthcare, operations, engineering, and economics, according to monitoring by Beating. Unlike traditional general-purpose benchmarks that rely on academic datasets, the new indices use customized weightings based on O*NET job activity classifications to simulate actual task distributions in each sector. In initial testing, Claude Fable 5 topped all eight indices, while open-source GLM-5.2 captured first place in five of the six industry indices and scored 53 on the engineering index, approaching Claude Sonnet 5's 55. The indices reveal significant performance gaps: in the legal benchmark, Gemini 3.1 Pro Preview matched Claude Fable 5's accuracy within 11 points while running 7 times faster.
