Bank Indonesia Launches Cross-Border QRIS Payments with China on April 30, Following $32.2M Trial

According to CNBC Indonesia, Bank Indonesia launched cross-border QRIS payments with China on April 30, following a trial that recorded 1.64 million transactions worth US$32.2 million, said deputy governor Filianingsih Hendarta.

The rollout covers 24 Indonesian providers and 19 Chinese providers, expanding QRIS across borders after similar launches in South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and Japan.
