Canada Mobilizes 5,300+ Firefighters and 300 Aircraft to Combat Historic Wildfire Crisis on July 18

According to state media CCTV, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced on the evening of July 18 that the country is mobilizing comprehensively to combat what he described as one of the worst wildfire seasons in history, driven by extreme heat waves and record-breaking drought conditions. Over 10 communities in northwestern Ontario have been evacuated.

The government has deployed more than 5,300 firefighters and deployed nearly 300 aircraft, including fire-bombing planes, helicopters, and evacuation aircraft. Canada is utilizing drones and thermal imaging technology to support real-time wildfire monitoring and firefighting operations.
