Chime Reports Strong Q1 Earnings, But Stock Falls 19% Below IPO Price on July 22

Chime reported Q1 2026 revenue of $647 million, up 25% year over year, with its first-ever GAAP profit of $53 million, 10.2 million active members, and a 90% gross margin. However, CHYM closed at $21.82 on 22 July 2026, roughly 19% below its $27 IPO price from June 2025, with a market capitalisation of $8.31 billion against the $11.6 billion valuation at listing. CEO Chris Britt said the company is "exceeding guidance, delivering strong incremental margins, and achieving our first quarter of GAAP profitability as a public company." Management also authorised an additional $200 million in share buybacks.

Analyst consensus target stands at $30.05 across 19 analysts, implying 37.7% upside. B. Riley initiated coverage with a $35 Buy target, while Goldman Sachs upgraded to Buy, citing potential take-rate expansion to 1.23% in 2027 versus the 1.14% consensus estimate.
