Clarity Act Faces 20-Day Senate Sprint Before August Recess Deadline

The Senate will have approximately 20 working days in July to advance the Clarity Act before the August recess, according to Senator Cynthia Lummis. Lawmakers return from a state work period on July 13 and must complete floor action before the next recess begins in August.

Lummis expects final compromise text around the July 4 recess, with the bill requiring at least 60 votes to pass. Republicans will need support from at least seven Democratic senators; two Democrats on the Banking Committee voted to advance the measure in May. Polymarket data shows the Clarity Act has a 44% probability of becoming law in 2026, down 21% from earlier estimates.
