On June 22, Cloudflare confirmed a fiber cut in Eastern North America caused widespread service disruptions. X, Fortnite, Discord, and Zoom experienced increased latencies and timeouts, affecting users across Europe and North America. According to Downdetector, X saw over 11,800 outage reports by early afternoon, with users in the U.S., UK, Greece, France, and Algeria all reporting issues. Cloudflare said it was continuing traffic engineering work to mitigate the impact.
