According to Bernstein analysts, crypto-style perpetual futures for AI compute have launched on Architect's AX exchange, a Bermuda-registered venue outside the CFTC's purview, outpacing regulated contracts planned by CME Group and Intercontinental Exchange. Both exchanges are targeting late 2026 for cash-settled contracts pending regulatory review.
Kalshi, a CFTC-regulated prediction market, also lists event contracts on GPU rental prices. On July 14, Kalshi rolled out compute forward curves for NVIDIA B200, H200, and A100 chips, with B200 pricing at $5.41 against a historical peak of $7.39. Offshore perpetuals launched earlier due to lighter regulatory frameworks, Bernstein noted, though initial liquidity remains nascent and dominated by speculative flows.
