Cursor Releases Version 3.11 With Side Panel Chat and Conversation Search

According to Beating monitoring, Cursor released version 3.11, introducing side panel chat and conversation search. Users can open a separate chat inheriting context from the main Agent to ask follow-up questions, research, or verify ideas without interrupting the primary task. Side panel conversations are permanently retained and can be referenced back to the main thread via @ mentions.

Cursor also supports searching past Agent conversations using local indexing. The cloud Agent now accepts new Hooks, enabling developers to trigger operations at key nodes including prompt submission, model replies, reasoning steps, and sub-Agent launches, allowing process monitoring and automated error correction workflows.
