According to Politico, France and Germany announced on Friday (July 18) plans to develop Europe-controlled military software to replace U.S. company Palantir's offerings, aiming to strengthen data sovereignty. France terminated its Palantir contract in June, while Germany has already adopted French alternative ChapsVision. In a joint statement following talks between French President Macron and German Chancellor Merz, the two nations committed to "researching Europe-owned digital infrastructure" and developing capabilities in "data-centric security, artificial intelligence, and cloud solutions." France cited its Arcadia project as an example of such sovereignty-focused initiatives.
