According to Bloomberg, German Chancellor Friedrich Merz announced on Tuesday that the government will advance all recommendations from a committee aimed at improving the financial sustainability of Germany's public pension system. The 33 measures include establishing market-based funds, gradually raising the retirement age, and tightening early retirement provisions. Labor Minister Bärbel Bas expressed agreement, stating that selective implementation would be unacceptable.
