Germany Plans to Withdraw Two Naval Vessels from Red Sea on July 23 Amid Iran Conflict

According to the German Defense Ministry on July 23, Germany plans to withdraw two naval vessels from the Red Sea to the eastern Mediterranean in the coming days due to ongoing hostilities involving Iran. The minesweeper Fulda and supply ship Mosel, deployed to the Gulf of Aden in June and based at Djibouti, have been held in readiness for potential mine-clearing operations in the Strait of Hormuz but conditions currently do not permit such deployment, a Defense Ministry spokesperson said via DPA.
