Hong Kong Expects First Stablecoin Issuer Licenses Next Month, Says Chief Executive Lee

According to Hong Kong Chief Executive John Lee at the Consensus Hong Kong conference on Wednesday, the first batch of stablecoin issuer licenses are expected to be issued next month. The announcement follows the implementation of the Stablecoins Ordinance in August last year, which established a licensing regime for stablecoin issuers pegged to fiat currencies in Hong Kong.
