Iran Warns Against Foreign Military Actions in Strait of Hormuz on July 4

According to Xinhua News, Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Garibabadie warned on July 4 that the Strait of Hormuz is not a venue for foreign military displays. The warning came after the UK and France announced on July 3 a joint commitment with Oman to deploy "broader multinational military operations" to ensure shipping freedom in the strait.

Garibabadie stated that Iran, as the security guarantor of the Strait of Hormuz, will remain highly vigilant against relevant military movements. He emphasized that strait security should be maintained by littoral states, and any crisis-creating actions will be borne by the responsible parties.
