KOSDAQ Trading Volume Plunges to 15-Year Low in Early July Amid Liquidity Drought

According to Korea Exchange, KOSDAQ trading volume plunged to 442.79 million shares on July 9, marking its lowest level since August 2011. Trading volumes have collapsed throughout July, with the bottom 12 trading days since 2020 all occurring in the current month. Daily trading value also dropped sharply, falling from approximately 12 trillion Korean won in early July to 4.62 trillion won on July 21, the lowest monthly closing since November 2019, signaling severe market illiquidity.
