According to Reuters, Malaysia's Home Ministry is investigating a digital nomad community founded by Balaji Srinivasan, former Coinbase chief technology officer, after allegations that Israeli passport holders are present in the group, which violates immigration law. The community, established in 2024, describes itself on its website as a "frontier community for technological optimists" aimed at transforming internet communities into physical entrepreneurial societies.
Malaysia's immigration authority stated that Israeli passport holders are prohibited from entering the country. However, the country has no legal ban on dual-nationality citizens traveling on non-Israeli passports. The Home Ministry said its investigation will focus on identifying members' identities and nationalities, verifying travel documents, and determining their purpose of entry into Malaysia.
