NBCUniversal Explores Video Game Business Following Comcast Separation; Spin-Off Expected in One Year

According to Reuters, NBCUniversal is exploring opportunities in the video game market and planning to develop new entertainment franchises as part of its independent growth strategy following Comcast's announced separation. Comcast will split into two publicly traded companies through a tax-free spin-off expected to complete within one year, subject to regulatory approval. The newly independent NBCUniversal will operate its entertainment portfolio including theme parks, film and television studios, NBC, Telemundo, Bravo, and Peacock streaming platform. Comcast shareholders will receive shares in both entities, and Comcast plans to retain a stake of up to 19.9% in NBCUniversal for up to one year post-separation.
