Samsung BioLogics Acquires PolyPeptide Group for 2.7 Trillion Won on July 20

On July 20, Samsung BioLogics announced the acquisition of PolyPeptide Group AG for 2.7 trillion Korean won, according to NICE Credit Rating and Samsung BioLogics' official disclosure. The Swiss peptide contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO), listed on SIX Swiss Exchange, will be acquired with 100% equity transfer. PolyPeptide Group, founded in 1952 and spun off from pharmaceutical firm Ferring in 1996, operates production facilities across five countries with over 1,000 development and production projects in peptide therapeutics. The company reported 669.2 billion Korean won in revenue and 14.8 billion Korean won in operating profit in 2025. NICE Credit Rating assessed that while the near-term impact on Samsung BioLogics' credit rating remains limited, the company's leverage will increase in the medium term given its existing capex commitments for new campus construction.
