SBI Holdings Completes Majority Stake Acquisition in Singapore's Coinhako on July 16 After MAS Approval

According to its official statement, SBI Holdings completed the acquisition of a majority stake in Coinhako, a Singapore-based cryptocurrency platform, on July 16 after securing approval from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS). The Japanese financial group's subsidiary SBI Ventures Asset Pte. Ltd. injected capital into Coinhako parent Holdbuild Pte. Ltd. and purchased shares from existing shareholders, making Coinhako a consolidated subsidiary. The platform operates through Hako Technology Pte. Ltd., holder of a Major Payment Institution license from MAS. SBI plans to combine Coinhako's customer base and regional network with its own services, including its JPYSC yen-denominated stablecoin, and to expand a digital asset corridor across Japan and Southeast Asia.
