Scammer Drains $10,000 in Crypto From Victim Using Fake Job Opportunity: Fox News

According to Fox News, a man identified as Rick S. lost approximately $10,000 in cryptocurrency after falling victim to a job scam involving a fake company called APPTimizer. The victim received a text message offering easy money by uploading apps, but the scheme turned out to be a crypto task scam that initially allowed small withdrawals to appear legitimate before requiring a large crypto deposit to unlock further earnings. The FBI states that such scams commonly employ the tactic of claiming that greater investments yield higher returns, with victims often paying more in attempts to recover their supposed earnings on the platform.
