Seven Tankers Transit Strait of Hormuz as Shipping Confidence Rises on Easing Tensions

According to Bloomberg, seven tankers were present in the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday morning (June 23), including two fully laden non-Iranian supertankers departing the Persian Gulf and three product tankers exiting the strait. Two Iranian-flagged Suezmax tankers were also transiting from the opposite direction. Kpler Ltd. senior crude analyst Muyu Xu noted the increase reflects growing confidence among ship operators, driven by expectations that Iran will avoid attacking vessels. However, Xu cautioned that whether truly safe and unrestricted passage materializes remains to be seen.
