SK E&S Surges 54% in One Month as Middle East Tensions Push Oil Prices Higher

SK4.69%
According to Korea Exchange data, South Korean renewable energy stock SK E&S surged 54.36% over the past month through July 22, closing at 62,000 won on a 10.91% daily gain. The stock jumped 16.32% over five trading days following July 15's close. The rally reflects escalating U.S.-Iran tensions driving international crude oil prices higher; WTI crude futures (August contract) climbed 6.67% to $84.91 per barrel between July 15 and 21. Rising oil costs boost the economic competitiveness of solar and wind energy relative to fossil fuel power generation. SK E&S, which operates approximately 800 MWh of energy storage capacity nationally, benefits from investor expectations around government renewable energy policies and a planned joint venture with KKR announced in June.
