South Korea's Central Bank Digital Currency Pilot Advances to Live Bank System Integration

According to ET News, South Korea's central bank digital currency (CBDC) pilot has advanced to a new phase, with participating banks now integrating the system with their actual account systems within test environments. The infrastructure, built on Naver Cloud, includes customer and merchant e-wallets, a voucher system for government fund payments, a digital currency management tool, and a blockchain integration module. The system will ultimately connect with banks' core ledgers and smart banking services.
