South Korea's Central Bank Warns Single-Stock Leveraged ETFs Tied to Samsung, SK Hynix May Amplify Market Volatility

According to South Korea's central bank on July 5, single-stock leveraged ETFs linked to Samsung Electronics and SK Hynix may further exacerbate market concentration and amplify market volatility. The central bank stated that since Samsung and SK Hynix account for more than 50% of South Korea's stock market capitalization and trading volume, expanding investment in single-stock leveraged ETFs could intensify market concentration and unidirectional trading flows. The central bank plans to strengthen monitoring of these products' impact on the stock market and financial system.
