According to S&P Dow Jones Indices and Pantera Capital, the companies recently launched the S&P Pantera Digital Asset Index, comprising 18 digital assets designed to provide institutional investors with a structured approach to evaluate cryptocurrencies.
Unlike existing indexes that rely on price momentum or market popularity, the new index applies a rule-based methodology similar to traditional finance standards. To qualify, assets must have a minimum market capitalization of $500 million and meet specific liquidity thresholds. Projects are ranked by revenue generated over the previous two quarters. Identified assets in the index include Ethereum, BNB, Solana, Tron, and Hyperliquid, with the complete list of 18 assets not yet fully disclosed.
