SpaceX Explores Carrier Partnership With Charter Communications for Mobile Service

According to Bloomberg, SpaceX and Charter Communications have recently held discussions at senior levels regarding a potential partnership to launch consumer mobile services. Under the proposed collaboration, Charter could route a portion of SpaceX's mobile traffic through its ground network infrastructure, similar to the model Charter uses for its Spectrum Mobile service.

SpaceX has informed investors that it plans to directly offer mobile services to consumers, according to the Financial Times. The company recently secured AWS-3 spectrum from the FCC and previously acquired additional mobile spectrum assets. SpaceX already operates Starlink Mobile, a service offered in partnership with T-Mobile US at $10 per month, providing messaging and internet-based calling in remote areas.
