SpaceX Stock Slips 4% Overnight After MSCI Assigns CCC ESG Rating

According to MSCI Inc. and reported by Financial Times, SpaceX (SPCX) stock declined 4% in overnight trading on June 21 after the company received a CCC rating, the lowest on MSCI's environmental, social and governance scale. MSCI assigned the aerospace firm a controversy score of 1 out of 10 and a governance score of 3.2 out of 10, citing inadequate management of ESG risks.

CEO Elon Musk responded on X late Sunday, saying "Unfortunately, electric rockets are impossible," dismissing ESG constraints on emissions-intensive industries.
