Standard Chartered Predicts Federal Reserve Will Hold Rates Unchanged for Rest of 2026, Cut in Q2 2027

According to Bloomberg, Standard Chartered expects the Federal Reserve to maintain interest rates unchanged for the remainder of 2026, with rate cuts beginning in the second quarter of 2027. The bank noted that market expectations for the Federal Reserve have become too hawkish, and cited improved U.S. economic performance and the temporary U.S.-Iran agreement as factors that may help overall inflation peak in the second quarter.
