Trump Says Iran Will Negotiate Tuesday in Doha, Tehran Denies Meeting on June 30

According to President Trump's Truth Social post on June 28, Iran has requested talks set to occur Tuesday, June 30, in Doha. Trump said U.S. Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff and son-in-law Jared Kushner are heading to Qatar to meet with mediators. However, Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson immediately rejected the claim, stating no talks at any level will be held with the United States in coming days. Iran's media outlet Fars reported that nuclear negotiations will not resume until Iran's preconditions are satisfied. According to Bloomberg and Axios reporting, U.S. officials expect the American delegation to meet with Qatari and Pakistani mediators, but Tehran has not confirmed whether it will send representatives to Doha, leaving the talks' viability highly uncertain.
